Video: How to Care for and Adjust Your Spring Assisted Knife
Spring assisted knives seem to be all the rage these days. Problem is, more moving parts equals more opportunity for breakdown.
Luckily for us I found this video outlining a method of caring for your spring assisted knife. Enjoy the video, then weigh in with your knife cleaning tips!

I have a dagger style knife, 3″ assisted similar to the first knife in your video on maintenace of assisted knives…and the internal spring has broken. Do you know where I might purchase replacement springs for this knife. The clip was stamped ‘Echo’. But I think these knives are all made in Taiwan from the same manufacturer, with different brand names stamped on them. Any help you can give me in finding replacemet springs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Helpful video. I’ve picked up some pretty complex spring assisted knives- and some of the older ones are going bad. I’ll follow the instructions from the video.
Great to hear it! Stop back by and let us know how the repairs work out!
I have a dagger knife like the first one in the video. My problem is when Iclose it, the blade doesent stay inside the handle all the way, the tip sticks out about an 1/8 of an inch, unless I manually push it inside the handle, but it does come back out after awhile. Is there a way to adjust this?
There may be a way to adjust the knife or perhaps know if it needs a repair. Can you tell us the brand and model of knife, dimensions and do you happen to have an image? That may help us find the answer.

I have a Schrade Nitro spring assisted knife. A very small screw (about 1/16″ long fell out of it and the knife will have to be dissembled to re-install. Will I get into trouble doing so or is it pretty straight forward? Your assistance would be appreciated.
A check with our supplier didn’t turn up anything. These types of parts are usually covered under a manufacturers warranty. So check there, and attempt to contact them for a replacement part as well. Installation should be fairly straight forward.
Cheers
